This single-use test cartridge includes the necessary reagants and diluents for specific target indications. Simply adding a test sample and closing the instrument door triggers the automated measurement sequence. Different target indications are possible with a printed code on the cartridge being read by the in2it instrument for it to know which measurement sequence to run.

The first launch of the in2it™ instrument was a fully automated, cartridge based, diagnostic tool that allows users to monitor their HbA1c levels at home or at the point of care. By interrogating the historical data stored on board, users can manage their long-term HbA1c levels to achieve significant improvements in managing their diabetes.

DCA was responsible for all aspects of the test cartridge and instrument design up to the delivery of representative injection moulded pre-production prototypes to Provalis Diagnostics. From this point in the development process, design responsibility was transferred to an in-house Provalis team to allow refinement in parallel with the assay chemistry and protocols.

The product’s many advantages, including its lab accuracy, small size, operability via battery and general flexibility, answer the markets needs. Its effects on Provalis Diagnostics sales will be fundamental
