SoloSTAR wins the 2008 GOOD DESIGN® award
SoloSTAR®, a disposable injection pen for the injection of Lantus® and Apidra® for people with diabetes, has received the prestigious 2007 GOOD DESIGN® Award, as awarded by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
Lantus® and Apidra® SoloSTAR®, created in cooperation with sanofi-aventis, considering the input of patients, nurses and doctors, is the result of four years of intensive development and the product of a rigorous, evidence-based, intelligent approach to design.
The Lantus® and Apidra® SoloSTAR® device delivers leading performance in almost every respect. It has a lower dispense force and the largest selectable dose compared with the most broadly available pens in its class. The device is remarkably easy to use, has a discretely appealing form and is designed to facilitate extremely high-volume manufacture and assembly.
The elegant form of the SoloSTAR® device, together with its ease of use and advanced mechanical engineering has been designed and developed using design consultancy from DCA Design International Ltd.
The quality and the supply of Lantus® and Apidra® SoloSTAR® meet the high standards of the medical industry.
The Lantus® and Apidra® SoloSTAR® device is being put into the permanent Design Collection of the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
(Lantus® SoloStar® and Apidra® SoloStar® are registered brands of Sanofi Aventis).
