DCA welcomed to The Northern School of Art to introduce them to a career in Industrial Design

Martin Crofton, Senior Industrial designer at DCA was invited to give a talk about a career in Industrial design to students on the Foundation course at The Northern School of Art.

The Northern School of Art is a further and higher education art and design college, based in the north-east of England, whose alumni include Sir Ridley Scott, Artist Mackenzie Thorpe and British illustrator, animator and author Curtis Jobling. Martin, a former student of the college, travelled to Middlesbrough to present to 60 students and later answered questions on his career and about getting into product design.

The Foundation staff and students alike found it to be a really informative and inspirational talk.

Sue Dewey, Foundation Course leader commented, “The students found it so eye-opening and useful - staff too! I think we all understand so much better what Industrial design is and can be and what the career can involve and I know several students are now thinking of it as something they would like to pursue”.
