DCA develops a new approach for assessing train cabs against driving tasks
The human factors team at DCA have developed a new approach, based on hierarchical task analysis, to evaluate train cabs against a wide range of driving scenarios. Unlike individual assessments of each control, the technique captures insights into the fun.
Together with Hitachi Rail Europe, DCA has documented a description of this approach that has been accepted for publication in the IMECHE’s Journal of Rail and Rapid Transit. This follows on from the publication of a paper on Glare assessment within train cabs in the Journal of Applied Ergonomics.
