Make a positive difference to the world around you

Our Culture

Our shared purpose is to connect our clients to the future, helping them achieve success through great product design. To do this we recruit and develop people with world-class knowledge in their specialist skill areas, so that we can provide the highest level of expertise and experience in our four chosen market sectors. Client-focused, multidisciplinary project teams are at the heart of everything we do. These tight-knit teams work closely together, balancing creativity and rigour to deliver excellent outcomes that are better for the user, better for our clients and better for our planet.

We encourage a healthy work-life balance with half days on Fridays, flexible and part-time working options and paid overtime. When not working, the team can also enjoy DCA’s frequent social, cultural and sporting activities in and around the area, with financial support available from our social fund.

We treat all job applicants, employees and workers equally, ensuring that no one will be discriminated against either directly or indirectly based on the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010. We also provide an environment in which all employees and potential employees are treated with respect and dignity and that is free from harassment based upon these protected characteristics.

Our Careers

We provide excellent career opportunities and professional development for outstanding graduates and experienced professionals. New staff, including newly qualified graduates, are encouraged to take on project responsibilities and to liaise directly with clients from the outset, with the support and guidance of experienced team members available whenever needed.

Our mentoring and review processes help staff develop their careers, blending formal training with on-the-job learning, while our internal structures encourage the exchange of ideas and learning between staff in all disciplines.

Competitive salaries are offered, together with biannual and profit related bonuses and paid overtime.

Our Student Placements

We provide paid placements in the majority of our core skill areas for exceptional undergraduate students, with placement lengths varying from 8 weeks to 12 months. We will agree with you a series of objectives at the start of your placement and will work with you to ensure that these are addressed during your time with us.

Most of our students quickly find themselves working on live client projects, where they are supported by other experienced team members, but encouraged to take ownership of their own work. This often includes formally presenting outcomes to our clients alongside the rest of the DCA team.

As well as the experience you gain from client work, you will also join skill forums and attend various skills-based training that takes place while you are with us. You will also have a mentor to help and guide you throughout your placement.

For the best of our placement students, there is the potential of being sponsored, with funding offered during the remainder of your course and the opportunity to rejoin the DCA team following your graduation.

Our Location

You will be relocating to one of the most entrepreneurial, highly educated and affluent parts of the country.

We work in five separate locations around the town of Warwick in the heart of England. Our buildings house studios, offices, workshops and test laboratories and are clustered closely together to create a vibrant town centre campus. Next door to Warwick, Leamington Spa is home for many of our staff and was named as one of the happiest places to live in the UK in Rightmove’s 2021 survey. Warwick, Leamington and nearby Stratford-upon-Avon are all bustling market towns that blend extensive parks, green spaces and waterways with historic architecture. They offer great bars, cafes and restaurants, a wide range of independent shops and great schools.

There are local events like food, drink and music festivals throughout the year, while Warwick Castle makes a dramatic and unique venue for DCA’s Christmas parties. Beyond the venues and events on our doorstep, there is world class entertainment available with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford, the Hippodrome Theatre, the Symphony Hall and the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, as well as Warwick University’s Arts Centre which hosts over 3,000 individual theatre, music, comedy and arts events each year.

Birmingham is only a short train journey away. As the second most populous UK city, it is also one of the youngest cities in Europe, with nearly 40% of the population under the age of 25. With a vibrant nightlife, festivals and events throughout the year, and one of Europe’s largest shopping centres, Birmingham also ranks as one of the happiest UK cities. But if it’s a quieter home life you are after, the region is teeming with attractive villages set in classic rolling English countryside. And when you want to get away, there are excellent transport links to the rest of the UK and abroad by road, rail and air. And since we finish work at lunchtime on Fridays, you can be on your way ahead of the crowds!

So finding the right work-life balance for you should be easy at DCA.
